Dr. Patti Thigpen, owner, has been involved in hearing health care in the fields of speech and hearing sciences since 1980. Having graduated with a bachelor’s degree locally from MTSU and a master’s degree from The University of Tennessee, Patti then obtained her doctorate in audiology from Salus University in Pennsylvania. Her experience includes positions as director of audiology programs, consultant for school-based hearing impairment programs, director of newborn hearing screening, and industrial consultant for noise-management programs.
She has provided clinical supervision of audiology college students and was employed as a speech therapist for seven years in the public school system. She worked within medical ENT practices for 17 years developing their audiology departments for growth and providing services. Additionally, she has worked as a provider and clinical supervisor at the Bill Wilkerson Center, and managed hospital newborn hearing screening programs and industrial hearing exams. She continues to serve newborn through adult populations. Dr. Thigpen began private practice in 2008 and has carefully added more doctors to her staff over time to ensure quality patient care. She currently is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, The American Academy of Audiology, the Better Business Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and the New Vision Baptist Church, where she enjoys serving in various capacities.
